SEMESTER REFLECTION, AMERICAN CULTURE

              

 AMERICAN CULTURE

     In our American Culture's class, we had the opportunity to know about different topics of American Society. One of the subjects was "hero". I enjoyed this topic because is not only unreal, we live in a world where we need hero. They’re a special people that help other people in different aspects like economically, socially, affectedly, psychologically, and spiritually. 

     Also, we know the ideals of two presidents candidates, who in a debate exposed difficult and benefices to America; for they we know what is the problematic in America and what are the factors that affect American people. 

         As well, we had the opportunity to know two important American singers like Norah Jones and Billie Holiday; their voices and their music was and are the sensation in a cultural world, special, and elegant; where a lot of people enjoy their music and their beautiful voices in different places, theater. 

          In conclusion, the topics are very important, because when we are in others countries and others cultures, we need to know how are customs, and ideals of others cultures. In class, we were enjoyed about topics; it’s offered a big knowledge. Also, we enjoy with classmates, because they offered theirs cultures and customs too. Music, art, politics, language, and foods are the principal topics that everyone needs to know in every country.        

HEROES

         Heroes are social workers because they live to help other lives, they have a good qualities, and they have the best knowledge. They can rehabilitate and prevent different types of danger. 

           They live to help others lives, because they will change their lives for other people such as fireman, army, or doctors. For example, my friend Freddy is a fireman, he rescued many people in a building when it was on fire.

          They have a good qualities, because they work  according to their abilities, such as climbing, fighting, or surgery. for example, my friend Antony was a soldier, he defended his country and he lost his legs.

         They have the best knowledge, because they have preparation in different areas, such as medical, soldiers, social worker, fireman, or lawyer. For example, John is from United States, he went to Colombia to help poor people, and he confronted guerrilla groups. 

          In conclusion, people that work to help others people are heroes, because is more important other lives that their lives. They risk their lives in exchange for happiness.

 AMERICAN CULTURE CLASS: SUPERHERO

    In American culture class we discussed the American idea of superheros. There are many famous superheros in American culture such as Batman, Superman, Spiderman, etc. We read an expert from the book "superheros and philosophy" by Joseph Loed and Tom Harris.

        first, Who invented every superheros have intention of embody our hopes and fears. They think that superheros represent ambitions to people in different forms like morally, physically, psychologically.

        second, All image of the superheros are in inspiration to everyone; it is because we need confront fears. They pretend justice to people that can't help themselves; they with their powers have the ability of defend and protect their lives and their materials things. All superheros have a noble character, and they hide their faces because is more important help that be recognized. 

      In conclusion, I agree that every crime is not necessary a superhero, and every superhero don't have superpowers, but they represent qualities that can are difficult for us, but not impossible.
